Diane HoskinsDirector, Global Policy
Diane Hoskins is global policy director for the Carbon to Sea Initiative. She works with scientists, academics, non-profits, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to create and inform policy on ocean-based carbon dioxide removal.
Before joining Carbon to Sea, Diane worked at Oceana where she led their U.S. Climate and Energy team and the winning campaign to stop the expansion of offshore drilling in the U.S.
Before joining Oceana in August 2017, Diane worked for The Pew Charitable Trusts (Pew) where she directed a winning campaign to reform the Army Corps of Engineers’ Nationwide Permit program. The campaign resulted in the first-ever national living shorelines permit, which encourages nature-based solutions to coastal erosion. Prior to Pew, she worked as an external affairs and government relations director for Restore America’s Estuaries, a membership organization of major coastal conservation organizations.
Earlier in her career, Diane worked at Restore America’s Estuaries and held multiple roles at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) on their Climate Change, Federal Legislative Campaigns and EcoEnterprises Fund teams. With EcoEnterprises, she helped write a book on environmental venture capital investing in Latin America. Preceding her work with TNC, she was a program manager with the District Department of Environment, spent a year as an AmeriCorps volunteer, and worked for a microfinance organization in West Africa.
Diane graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland, earning a degree in Agricultural and Resource Economics.
