Danny Gawlowski is the Senior Manager of Communications for the Carbon to Sea Initiative.
Before joining Carbon to Sea, Danny worked as a senior leader of The Seattle Times, a newsroom of 160 journalists that reaches 1.8 million people each week. His work as an editor and journalist has been recognized with two staff Pulitzer Prizes, a national Emmy Award, an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Award, two national Edward R. Murrow Awards, the Gannett Foundation Award for Innovation in Watchdog Journalism, and a Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. His work has spanned a broad spectrum of topics – from ocean acidification to deadly medical practices to family homelessness – that helped inform communities, changed public policies, and saved lives.
Danny serves on the Board of Directors for the Kalish Visual Editing Workshop, where he previously served as Director, and on an advisory board for the International Women’s Media Foundation.
Danny studied Journalism and Anthropology at Ball State University as well as Business Management at the IESE School of Business. He lives in Seattle.
