Miriam ZitnerGM, Canada

Miriam Zitner is the General Manager, Canada in the Carbon to Sea Initiative, where she oversees the implementation of ocean-based carbon removal research in Nova Scotia and across Canada.

Before joining Carbon to Sea, Miriam has worked at the intersection of climate, policy and technology for more than 25 years. She has worked with Fortune 100 technology companies, academic institutions, startups, and governments to create and launch new policies, processes, and products. This includes Halifax’s first Civic Innovation Outpost and its current, five-year economic development plan, “People, Planet, Prosperity.” Miriam is a co-founder of Halifax Tides FC, Halifax’s first professional women’s soccer club.

Miriam holds a degree in communications alongside, multiple micro-credentials focused on innovation and systems thinking. She lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
