Anna MadlenerSenior Manager, MRV

Anna Madlener is the Senior Manager of Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) at the Carbon to Sea Initiative.

As a marine robotics engineer turned MRV strategist, Anna works at the intersection of ocean technology, ocean science, and carbon removal. At Carbon to Sea, she assesses MRV approaches for ocean-based carbon dioxide removal while translating scientific learnings and market insights into funding opportunities that advance understanding of ocean alkalinity enhancement’s feasibility, safety, and efficacy.

Before joining Carbon to Sea, Anna worked across climate tech, robotics R&D, and interdisciplinary science communication—exploring MRV robotics startup opportunities at Marble, building autonomous surface robots at EvoLogics, founding the The Ocean Embassy Podcast, and co-hosting the Plan Sea Podcast.

Anna holds degrees in Robotics (M.Sc) from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc.) from the Technical University of Berlin. Anna lives between Halle and Berlin, Germany. Anna is driven by a curiosity for the ocean’s role in climate change mitigation and by the challenge of translating technical innovation into impact.
